I liked the the black brochure with the squares cut out in it the most, I mean I haven't seen very many designs like that before and its really cool. It has a very cool clean look to it.
I think the other brochure has a better design though, I mean the design goes very well with their company and appeals the the audience they are trying to reach in my opinion, overall i think both are very clever designs.
What is really nice about the fashion brochure is that it caught my attention and kept it there - at least for a little while. Since the squares are cut out on the front, this brochure is very different from the typical brochure and as a result, it made me more curious and it made me want to look at it even longer. This is exactly the point of the design, because by the time the viewer has looked at it for a while, they have read the information it has to offer.
ReplyDeleteLooking at these two designs, I am immediately drawn to the first one. It's unique and it's simple, and my eye knows exactly what to look at. I wish the picture was a little bigger so I can actually read what it says. However, the second one is a little confusing. I'm not sure if I really do like the design at all. My eyes have no clue where to go to first... There's a sign that says we're open, then there are a bunch of tools, then--if I look real closely--I can see the word "Greens." I think designs not only have to be unique and interesting, but they also need to clearly communicate the message. I don't know if the second one does that.
ReplyDeleteThe first brochure was really nice! I haven't seen one that looked that classy in a long time. I liked Katie's comment, "it caught my attention and kept it there - at least for a little while." Keeping your prospective clients attention is almost impossible when your brochure is also among other's and the design needs to be really great in order to do that.
ReplyDeleteI really like the black brochure with the black squares cut out. It adds interest to the photo that is in the brochure. I also think it is simple and neat. There is not very much text or anything distracting at all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative way to make a brochure. When looking from it on the outside it looks as if you are looking through a window. I love seeing a new take on something ordinary and making it look extraordinary.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the cut out squares, it definitely works to catch the attention of the viewer, especially amongst a bunch of other brochures. I wonder though if they couldn't have utilized the space on the inside of the back flap better, to set some text, such as a summary or overview of the company etc.
ReplyDeleteThe cutout on the first one is an instant attention grabber. The black is simple and streamlined. The second one was a good idea, but I feel the colors were wrong. It seemed more like a baby blue, and not a color I would associate with hand tools. I think something bolder would have worked better. Overall it was still a great idea and well laid out.
