Trent Chopski’s Post

After my first find being band tees I wanted to find design with some meaning. I think both of these logos are amazing representatives of their purposes. The first many of you have probably seen. Its for red, to help provide medicine for those suffering with aids. I love what they have done with the word red, using words that include red and mean something such as discovered and inspired. They use fun, motivating words to get peoples attention and still manage to include their logo of (RED) across.

Next is the logo for NoKidHungry.org. I love what they have done with the white space showing that the apples been eaten, im assuming by hungry children. And then the faces of the children in the white space. Its just a really great logo for a really great cause.

  1. I too really liked the use of negative space in the apple with the kids faces. I think a good design can keep a reader or target audience intrigued and moving around the brochure or flier with very few words. I think you roved that point with all of these choices for your blog!

  2. I like when companies can use a whole campaign in their advertising and marketing and both of these are great. It is most effective when organizations (like RED) stick with the same theme and really drive the point home. People begin to recognize it and know exactly what they stand for, with very little context.

  3. The No Kid Hungry design is a great play off of a really popular phenomenon. I like how it catches my attention yet uses it in a way other than just an optical illusion. With very few words, it clearly gets the point across.

  4. The Red logo and campaign is a really good use of syntax. Its like they were able to look at the words differently, and in the end, they came up with an interesting idea for a campaign. As a result, people will look at the posters and think "Oh, that's interesting" which is a mark of good design.

  5. I like both of these campaigns because they are so simple. I think in today's world, too much text can be a real turn-off. In both of these there are just enough that I know what they are trying to say, and I know what they want me to do, which is impressive with only 6 words.

  6. I think all three of these logos work really well. I think it's important that if you are using a color in your typography that you incorporate it in your design as well. I think all three convey the idea very well and get to the point by using color, imagery, and typography. Those are the three key elements in logo design and all three examples incorporate them very well. They are also not really busy so they are pleasant to look at.

  7. Simple and sweet definitely applies to these three logo ideas. Any time I see the RED logo there has always been something about it that I have liked. Maybe it is because it immediately grabs my attention, or the simple typography but I definitely think it works. I also love the use of negative space in the NoKidHungry logo. Simple and Sweet.

  8. Its awesome what companies can do with a single idea. They take it and turn it into an entire campaign that not only works well visually, but also in a very impacting way to their clients. Its an example of something that is said simply and easily, but conveys so much.
