Sarah Crawford’s Post

Check this out! "Not a Box" lighting. Designer David Graas is already known for his cardboard designed furniture. Moving on from this, he began designing a creative set of "Not a Box" lighting. The box that the parts come in actually forms the lamp. Cut out designs on the side appear to form the shape of the lamp which is inside the box. However, the box IS the lamp. Did I mention this is fully recyclable? Tree huggers and designers alike will flock toward this latest design concept from David Graas. After some quick assembly, the consumer will have
a very unique cardboard "Not a Box" lamp.

  1. Hahah! I love it. Very cool and oh so modern. It's certainly original. Not sure that it would really be crazy popular, but I do think it's neat. Can cardboard catch on fire though? That's my only concern with this... when the light bulb inside gets really hot. Cool find though, Sarah!

  2. These are sooo cool! They are super creative and unique and would be a cool decoration for any setting. It is interesting how different an object like a lamp can be, and how many different shapes and sizes they can take. I also like how they make it a hands-on experience by making you put it together yourself. Neat idea.

  3. These are very interesting! I especially love the desk lamp with the many "arms" on it. I wonder how bright these would actually be, as well as how sturdy they would be. Knowing me, something would fall on it and crush it. Overall its very well done and definitely a modern, attractive design.

  4. Such an easy way to make a light! There is hardly anything to it, just a cool design that implies a type of fancier light, when in reality it is just cardboard. It is very trendy, and a novel idea.
