Stephanie Willis’ Post

I know we just finished with informational design but when I stumbled upon this site I really wanted my post to be about it. There is a lot of really interesting and helpful information contained in these posters but they are also pretty to look at and fun to read : ) Most of the information presented is relevant to graphic designers and may actually teach you something or if not, just be something fun to look at while you procrastinate : ) Enjoy!

  1. I really like these on the whole. I found the first one (flowchart) a little confusing to read in parts, some loops where I wasn't sure where to go. I'll count this a design flaw. Love the developers vs designers one; I like their use of different informational organization structures. Plus, the illustration is quirky and eye-catching.

  2. I love all these posters. They each have an excellent choice of color, each communicate information fairly well, and each of them draw the eye. My favorite is the first poster. I love the idea that no matter what your situation is, the result would always be the same. I thought that was very clever.

  4. I like the first and third. The first is easy to follow if you answer no, ok when you answer kinda, and somewhat confusing when you answer yes. Don't know if that is an intentional design element or what. Third one is well designed, interesting, visually appealing, and funny=great design!

  6. I wish that I had seen these when we were doing information design! These are so much more fun than what I found or thought up. I like the cartoon aspect of the first and third one alot. It covers the information in a fun, game kind of way.

  7. Each one of these posters has it's own character. While they may be a bit goofy at times, I love how they all tell a different story through their approach to visual informational transfer. They are incredibly creative and the use of color in the background and foreground imagery is very well balanced.

  8. I like the website vs developer one! Nice illustrations and nice color selection, and a good choice of typography. It's kinda funny, though I bet if I were to become a web designer or developer (and all that's in the air for now), it'll probably be even more humorous. Ha the 'designers afraid of PC's' is funny too! I flippen hate PC's!
