Each of these negative designs are done fantastically and are incredibly effective. These logos motivate me to use more negative space in my own work.Luke Morrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18114525775158263958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-13749771513460308292011-12-07T22:10:41.342-08:002011-12-07T22:10:41.342-08:00These designs are all very creative! When making a design, I tend to try to avoid making effective use of negative space because its so hard to do, but these logos really show how important it is. The Black Cat is super cool! At first I was wondering why the words were placed like that, but then I noticed the eyes! Very interesting.Kara Underwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02924198864880298607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-6589583769801405582011-12-07T18:45:46.067-08:002011-12-07T18:45:46.067-08:00My favorite designs are the "Olivia: Building...My favorite designs are the "Olivia: Building Energy Solutions" and the "Black Cat" design. These are my favorite becuase the hidden image applies to whatever the designer is trying to convey. The Olivia company is trying to build energy efficient solutions, and between the two trees is a home. With the black cat poster, there are two "eyes" that are made to let the reader see a black cat. Negative space is such a powerful design concept, and if it is pulled off well enough, it can really help out the posters meaning.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-77133587656906569322011-12-07T18:43:16.155-08:002011-12-07T18:43:16.155-08:00These designs are very cool! It definitely caught my attention and made me keep looking to figure out what was going on... very well done!trogers413https://www.blogger.com/profile/06188530359892514386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-50962713484429360862011-12-07T14:22:39.627-08:002011-12-07T14:22:39.627-08:00Negative space is a huge design aspect that I don&...Negative space is a huge design aspect that I don't usually remember to think about applying in my designs. I love how you can look at it at first and see something, but then keep looking at it or come back to it again and see something else. It's so interesting how, once you find the hidden element, that's all that seems to pop out at you every time you look at it from then on. The design with the eyes of the cat really got me. At first I wondered why the c's were different than the rest of the type, but now all I can see are the cat eyes.Danielle Dyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08589215066219220913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-10059107865762832462011-12-06T14:13:24.690-08:002011-12-06T14:13:24.690-08:00I am a huge fan of negative space but I am not ver...I am a huge fan of negative space but I am not very good at utilizing it in my own designs. I did the same thing as Sophie with the cat design! Designs like these really motivate me to be creative with my own designs and look for opportunities to use negative space.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5087949654202985954.post-47041184298701967112011-12-05T12:16:44.610-08:002011-12-05T12:16:44.610-08:00wow. These are really cool logos! My favorite one ...wow. These are really cool logos! My favorite one is the black cat. At first I just saw one eye and thought it was weird but when I saw the other one it made me go "wow." These logos definitely show the importance of negative space. I know that I often forget about it when I'm designing something but this shows that I need to be more aware of negative space when I'm designing and should use it to my advantage. I also really like the Olivia logo. I love how the dot on the "i" makes the window on the house. It's just cool! However, I don't really understand the point of the white space in the 1234 club logo. It doesn't seem to make something like the other logos do...I wish that there was some purpose behind it.snort1992https://www.blogger.com/profile/14179152314504121472noreply@blogger.com
